Michael Lowenbaum has a passion for our St. Louis community. Since 1976, he’s practiced labor and employment law, representing the St. Louis Rams, Cardinals, and many more. He’s spent his life giving in support of causes and organizations that matter to him, including JFS.
Michael made his first charitable donation to JFS in honor of his friend’s 70th birthday. In 2022, he chose to contribute to JFS through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP), which yields tax benefits for eligible donors and directly assists JFS’ efforts to support older adults in our community. “It allows me to give back more,” said Michael.
For every NAP dollar given to JFS ($1,000 minimum), donors receive 50% of their contribution as a direct tax credit on their income tax. Making a $5,000 gift to JFS would only cost donors $2,500.

Michael is passionate about the JFS Harvey Kornblum Jewish Food Pantry, which provides at least 10 days of food each month to individuals and families. Food insecurity is growing in St. Louis as the cost of groceries and necessities continue to skyrocket. The Pantry is here to meet that need and support families struggling to put food on the table.
Whether he’s sharing his generosity with the community or his family, Michael is not interested in recognition. “I donate from the heart,” he said.
JFS is powered by people like Michael, whose passion for our community is at the core of everything they do. Thank you, Michael, for joining us in our work to ensure everyone in St. Louis has the tools to thrive.
